 What is Love ?

"What’s love ?
Deep premise. Multiple views. The simplest  among the basic human emotions ,it evokes different strokes for different people and also at different stages in their lives.
 Love conquers, love hurts, love lifts, love punishes, love strengthens, love weakens, love broadens, love crunches, love heals and love kills!
No, it can’t be defined in 4-5 sentences by me at least, as B'Khush wants. Old man Freud failed. How can I? For me, it can be diverse manifestations leading from the same core.
So while love may be the protectiveness you feel for someone utterly and helplessly dependent on you, love is also what you feel when you submit yourself to some other human being and let go of self doubt. Love is the pride a father feels to see his daughter grow up and the heaviness when he knows that he has to see her off soon. Love is all that remains when someone holds the hand of a terminally ill dying spouse. Love is that guilt someone feels on seeing an unsuspecting person’s endearing smile after having cheated on that person. Love is the possessiveness of an adolescent, the bondage of two young people and the perseverance of age. Love may be as selfless as a social champion’s empathy for a leprosy ridden slum dweller, or it may simply be a narcissist’s delight when he/she encounters a like minded person and swells at the uncanny similarities. Love can be the soul submission of a sage to his Almighty. And a wrongly deployed love may also be the prime mover of the mind of a religious fanatic whose love evolves into hatred and mass massacre.
Simply put, love is a force every human being stumbles upon at some point of time or the other and if harnessed the right way, it can indeed move mountains, create miracles, crush hatred, uplift the entire human race.
The only thing that bothers me is that people “fall in love”. It’s time we all “rise in love”.
