Ragini MMS is A Remake of Paranormal Activity

Posted in

Ragini MMS is the upcoming horror flick produced by Balaji Telefilms. The media says the film is very much similar to the Hollywood blockbuster "Paranormal Activity". When asked, Ekta Kapoor admitted that Ragini MMS is highly inspired by Paranormal Activity."We are inspired by the medium of Paranormal Activity. The technique, the way the film was done. They were the grab footage (shot by multiple cameras from various angles), the real grab-footage. Paranormal Activity 1 apparently had all grab footage. Paranormal Activity 2 has no real footage,"

Ekta even  disclosed that the feel of the haunted house has been brought by the grab-shots of 24 cameras.

Ragini MMS is based on a couple going out for a holiday and how they get trapped into a paranormal world in the bungalow where they’re living.Apparently, the film is based on a real life incident. Kapoor admits that the film is 30 per cent fact and 70 per cent fiction. But whats interesting to know is that Ekta is planning a very unique premiere for the film.

The said premiere will happen at midnight as that’s the best time paranormal incidents to take place, “Friday the 13th is the day astrologers’ research past life and Tarot experts like Sunita Menon do paranormal stories related readings. It was too good an opportunity to pass over,” says Kapoor, who is planning spine-chilling promotional activities leading up to a midnight premiere. “Since I don’t have big names to draw in the crowds, I have to build on the hype.”

As for the story being based on real life incidents, Ekta says, “I’ve purchased the rights from the lady it happened to. She will see the film this week, and depending on her reaction and ability to handle media attention, we will decide whether to reveal her identity or not.”

The lead actors of Ragini MMS are Rajkumar Yadav and Kainaaz Motivala. The film is directed by Pawan Kripalini and produced by Ekta and Shobha Kapoor.
