  Looking good has become a necessity in a world of impressions and challenges, and it is surprising what your daily look can do to your confidence and personality!
 
 
 Making the right impression is all that counts in the world of high competence and demands. But it’s really nothing to worry about, as looking great everyday isn’t as difficult as most might think it to be.
 
Unlike the popular belief that prevailed some years back, relying on some basic cosmetic products to look good everyday isn’t unsual really! As more and more women choose a variety of careers and meet dozens of different people everyday, the importance of making the perfect impression by best presentation gets all the more pronounced. “It is true that a flashy and colourful face would be inappropriate at work place; but hints of the right colours in right amounts definitely help you look much better than what you would otherwise,” says Smita Talegaonkar, a journalist with an English daily.
In the times where one doesn’t have to be related to the fashion industry to be fashion savvy, most young women surprisingly have the right instinct to choose the perfect make-up to go with everyday. The purpose of wearing makeup in the everyday routine is not really to appear all ‘made up’, but to bring to light a woman’s best features and personality, making her own unique style statement. The right makeup affects a woman most positively by enhancing her sense of self-esteem and confidence. “When a woman knows deep inside that she’s looking good, it unknowingly reflects in the way she talks and carries herself, making her all the more assertive and positive,” says stylist Nafisa Poonawala-Hashim.
 
The daily makeup should be such that it hides all flaws it possibly can and bring out the best. Apart from that, it cannot be forgotten that the routine is getting unbelievably hectic, which is why hours cant be spent just on getting ready for work, also keeping in mind the convenience and the ease to use the products. “Some very basic products that will you look good in a jiffy are lipstick, lip-gloss, eye pencil and a compact foundation. You can spend sometime using all these before leaving home for work. But later in the day when you don’t really have a lot of time, you can splash some water on the face and pat dry with a tissue; and later, just basic compact and gloss will lighten your face,” suggests aesthetician Neha Khare of Mirror Salon.
 
Hair and skin expert Sana Poonawala of La Belle says that knowing one’s skin tone is a must to choose the correct beauty product. She says that hiding problems like dark circles, blemishes and uneven skin tone is more important than adding colour when it comes to everyday make-up.
 
Some easy tips that she gives are:
 
•Make a well-informed decision while selecting the right concealer and compact
 
•Select water-proof and anti-smudge products to last throughout the day
 
•Going for reputed brands is a wise decision
 
•Black, brown or gray eye pencils (or simply a kajal) go perfect for the work place, but keep it thin and minimal
 
•A single coat of nude mascara highlights the eyes
 
•Nude shades of lip gloss and lipstick, e.g., pink, mauve, peach etc, look perfect throughout the day
 
•A hint of pink or nude blush-on looks perfect for business lunches or meetings
 
•Shades like copper, brown, peach etc go well with dusky complexion, while pastels, pinks, mauves etc suit the fairer skin tones
 
All one needs to do is make well-informed choices and keep the very basics in mind… looking good comes unaided later.
