It's a brand new year and like everything else, fashion world will too see a lot of changes coming in. Some new trends, some new fabrics, new colours and much more are expected this time around.

The fashion weeks of the year still have time and we are sure you must be curious to know what's going to be in this year. So here it goes. The year 2012 is all about getting bold, chic and beautiful. Fashion from 50's and 60's make a comeback while ready-to-wear garments still be hot favourites with fashion lovers and will continue to get famous each passing day.

Designer Naina Sabarwal says, "Bold prints in any form will be in trend. Be it dramatic floral, animal, fruits, geometric, birds, digital or different prints of the type that were majorly seen during 60's is all set to make a comeback very soon. Mixed prints will be a big hit too and you will get to see them on dresses, sarees, skirts, kurtas and even lehengas."

Super low waist jeans will continue to rule while short dresses may get even more shorter or a bit longer to that may be a little above the ankles. So maxis and minis can be stored deep inside your wardrobes as the New Year suggests the trend of dresses and skirts that will be almost floor length.

Anarkalis will continue to be in trend and may get a little modification with length, stylish designs and sexy cuts. Pairing of colours, uses of laces, and different form of embroidery may play a vital role in making Anarkali better and sexier than ever.

Designer Anshul Trivedi says, "Stylish cuts and sexy necklines will be used to make a garment more appealing and sensuous. This year it will see the return of already ruling laces in different forms and as far as colours are concerned I say metallics are going to getter the big share this season."

Corals, orange, sunset yellow, caramel, mustard, melon pink and most fruity colours will be in all this year. Neons that made their entry last year will be in throughout the year and some other colours that will return are metallics and jewel tones. Earthy tones that never go out of fashion will also rule.

Says Sabarwal, "Metallics in any form will rule. Be it a stylish top or sandals, heels, straps metallics will be in throughout the year. But be very careful while pulling this one as one can easily get overboard with it."

When it comes to fabric cottons, silks, raw silks, organza, chiffon, georgette, lycra will do the favour to us this season. But fabrics that have an easy fall and is fluid is the best bet of the season. Style expert Pinkie Rathi feels, "This year fashion will see men borrowing heavily from women and vice versa. Women will have more and more of checks, stripes, stylish and fitting trousers, blazers while men will go bold with colours."

According to the style expert it won't be very surprising to see men in orange, purple, pink and other feminine colours while women may walk in more masculine striped sarees, skirts or dresses.
